This half-term, Mandela will be learning all the skills needed to play hockey. Our group aim is to be able to play matches in the next 3 – 4 weeks and what a fantastic start we have already made! In today’s lesson – the first of our hockey unit – we learnt how to dribble and run with the hockey stick and ball. We had to apply important rules including; holding the stick correctly, keeping our eye on the ball and gentle movements with the stick to carefully steer the pall around different obstacles and at speed. Here are some pictures of our first session today:
Next week, our plan is to consolidate the skills learnt today and move onto passing drills.
Great work Mandela!
