Robinson Class

Good afternoon,

We have had such a busy return back to school.

In English, we are learning how to write warning stories. We are using the story of the three little pigs to help us learn the plot pattern and add description into our writing. The children came in from play to see that something or someone had trashed the classroom. Straw, sticks and bricks were scattered around the room, along with a message saying ‘I will blow your school down!’ The children became investigators and used the clues to try and solve the crime.

In Maths, we have been learning to use arrays to support calculating multiplication questions. The children have learnt about rows and columns and lots of an amount. They have worked very hard.

In Science we have been learning about materials. This week we explored magnets. The children made their own magnetic games for their peers to play.

We have been celebrating pancake day in our class. The children were thrilled to eat chocolate flavoured pancakes with a dash of maple syrup as their snack. The week before we celebrated paczki day by eating Polish doughnuts. A big thank you to Miss Davies for bringing in doughnuts to celebrate this day.

We have been learning about buildings and homes all around the world and how different climates impact on how homes are made. The children built hedgehog homes in the forest out of plant pots, sticks and leaves. The children thought about how the homes needed to be safe and camouflaged to protect the hedgehogs. They worked together in teams to create the homes.

Well done Robinson class.
