Magnificent maths in Reception!
We have had an amazing week in Reception learning so many maths concepts.
There has been lots of exploration of odd and even numbers as well as doubling using fingers, dominoes, Numicon, multi link and 10s frames and counters.
We have also helped to teach some puppets who aren’t very good at counting accurately to count 1:1 to 20. The children told the puppets they had to give one number name to each object. We also did a lot of number work with numbers beyond 10, looking at teen
numbers /amounts and finding out that they consist of one whole ten and part of the next ten.
There are some incredibly talented mathematicians in Reception and everyone just loves maths!!!
