Year 5 Dyson – Poetry Presentation Pieces

This week in English lessons, we have been studying poetry. We were given a poem about a lark and then collected ideas about how we would describe the larks different body parts (e.g. beak, eyes, feathers). We then looked at the format of another poem and, using our descriptive ideas and the structure of the second poem, we created our own poems about a lark. On Friday, we copied up our poems neatly and accompanied them with pencil drawings of the lark’s head. Everyone worked extremely hard and the quality of the children’s presentation pieces is outstanding! Well done Dyson class!
