Learning about Remembrance Day in Reception

Last week we were learning all about Remembrance Day and lots of our activities were based on it.

Our small world play allowed for the development of imaginative play.  At our creative tables the children were able to create their own poppies and there were some beautiful ones! They were also able to practise their fine motor skills with poppy writing patterns. On Friday we watched a lovely clip on CBeebies to help us learn even more about Remembrance Day and what it means. We learned about the significance of Remembrance Day and why poppies are an important symbol to help us remember the sacrifices that people have made in the past and in the present day. We also had a 2 minute silence. Then the Busy Bee job was to create a beautiful poppy.

Well done Reception, another busy week!
