Portraying emotion through poetry

In writing, Mandela Class have been learning how to build character through description of feelings and emotions. We have built a toolkit of features to create character and applied these to write a poem which portrays the feelings of a character who was feeling sad. The children generated some incredible vocabulary and combined this with repetition and identifying nouns to create an impact on their reader. Here are some fabulous examples:
