DT- Sandwich Making

Rowling class have had a great time this week exploring their DT unit- sandwich snacks.
On Tuesday, they tasted some bread, then chose their bread and filling for their sandwich design. I was so proud of the children for pushing themselves out of their comfort zone and choosing something they wouldn’t normally choose and going for a completely new filling in order to try something new

There were a range of fillings and the children chose a main protein and some salad.

Today, we got stuck in and made our sandwiches following our design. The children made their sandwich independently, cutting using safe knife skills (under my eyes) and I was so pleased that everyone worked safely and independently.

Tomorrow, we will be evaluating our sandwiches considering what we liked and what we would improve next time.
