A walk in the woods

This morning we ventured into the woods to look for signs of Spring. We had a wonderful time building dens, hunting for the troll under the bridge, using our senses to describe the woods and finding and hiding lots of painted pebbles. Unfortunately, on the way back to school disaster struck when Miss Birch dramatically fell and rolled over and over down the very muddy path. She was plastered in mud! Some of the children helped her to her feet and supported her as she hobbled back to school.

The trip was ahead of our next Talk 4 Writing Unit which is a recount. It will make for an exciting model text!
