Dahl – Zelda Claw

This week has been Dahl’s first week on our new writing unit of work. We are learning a short suspense story called ‘Zelda Claw and the Rain-Cat’ and have finished learning actions for the text today. We even made a video of us performing the actions to show Mrs. Phelps on Monday! Hopefully the children might want to show you part of the story. The additional task for Key Skills today is linked to the English lesson, in which we began looking  at how a writer creates suspense. We discussed techniques such as using ’empty words’ like something and someone so that we don’t reveal too much to the reader too soon! The children had some really good ideas.
