Year 1: Paddington: Australian Foods

Today, Year 1 have tried some Australian foods as part of our Australia topic. We tried ‘Fairy Bread’ ‘Anzac Biscuits’ and ‘Vegemite’. The children really enjoyed the Fairy Bread and Anzac biscuits but most of us did not enjoy the vegemite.

Here are some of our comments on the food we tasted:

Fairy bread- scrumptious, banana, sweet, crunchy, birthday cake, tasty, delicious, buttery, crunchy outside, soft inside, nice and sweet

Anzac biscuits- like biscuits you dip in your tea, sticky, crunchy, stuck in your teeth, oats, scrumptious, chewy,

Vegemite- horrible, poisonous bread, disgusting, spicy- dangerous, coffee flavour, yummy, tasty

Our favourite foods:

 

Libby- My favourite food was the fairy bread because it was crunchy.

Grace- My favourite food was the fairy bread because it was scrumptious and sweet. It felt soft in my mouth.

Anay- My favourite food was the Anzac biscuits because they were delicious.

Ella- My favourite food was the fairy bread because of the sprinkles.

Beau- My favourite food was the fairy bread because it was colourful and tast.

Yusuf- I liked the biscuits.

Freya-  I liked the vegemite because it was tasty.

Samuel- I liked the biscuits and fairy breads because they tasted sweet.

Daniel- I liked the Anzac biscuits because they were delicious
