Year 1 Matilda: The Rainbow Fish

We have really enjoyed reading ‘The Rainbow Fish’ in our reading lessons recently. We have been working on using our imaginations to ‘visualise’ what we are hearing and reading. On Thursday, the children worked with a partner to read parts of the story and then describe what they were visualising in their minds to a partner. The children then had to listen really carefully and draw what their partner was describing.

It was so interesting to discover how we all imagined things differently in a story!

The children worked so well in pairs with their reading and loved seeing the outcome of their imaginative descriptions to their partners!
