The Day The Crayons Quit – Drawing

Reading The Day The Crayons Quit has inspired us to have a go at improving our drawing skills with our favourite pens.  We had lots of fun doing these and ended up using the designs to make some cards to give to family members who we are missing seeing. These are the You Tube video clips we used to help with our drawings:

Have a go yourself, what pen or pencil will you choose to use?  If your pen was to write to you like Duncan’s crayons do in the story The Day The Crayons Quit, what would they say?  Here is a Sway to a video clip of Jessica and I reading part of the story together:

Once you have listened to the story, you might like to write a letter as if your favourite pen or pencil was talking to you or see if you can answer these questions about the story:

* How has Duncan used this crayon in the past?

* How does this make the crayon feel?

* What does this crayon want to persuade Duncan to do?

* What words does the crayon use in the letter that might get Duncan to behave differently?

Whatever you choose to do, have fun and stay happy.
