3D shape challenge

Good Morning Year 5!

Today, in maths, you are going to be looking at 3D shapes.

Here’s an amazing fact:

The shape of a Pringle crisp is called a hyperbolic paraboloid!!

Can you try and find out:

  • How Pringles are made?
  • How many ordinary packets of crisps a tube of Pringles would fill?
  • Any other unusual mathematical names for 3D shapes?

Email Ms James (Mrs Amos and Mrs Chisholm are teaching in school today) so she can blog the answers!!
