Year 4 – Harry Potter At Home

Good morning Year 4! Well done for starting the week so positively with your home learning yesterday – it was great to see so much wonderful work again!

Today, I wanted to share with you a great website that I think many of you may enjoy, as we have been hearing that a lot of you are starting to read some of the Harry Potter books or watch the films. You may even have already heard about or visited this website if you are a Harry Potter fan!

On the website, there is a new section called “Harry Potter at Home” if you click the menu button (the three lines in the top left corner). On here are lots of activities, quizzes, information pages and craft activities as well as chapters of the first book being read.

This link will take you directly to the page where you can watch and listen to some famous celebrities reading the first Harry Potter book. They are currently up to Chapter 11, so you will need to have a look through the video list until you find Chapter 1 to start – this one is being read by Daniel Radcliffe who is the actor who plays Harry in the films!

I have been listening to these videos, even though I’ve read the book lots of times because I really enjoy listening to other people reading to me and the Harry Potter books are still some of my all-time favourite books! I hope you enjoy watching them too.

Don’t forget, you can still keep watching the videos of your teachers reading your Class Readers as well – we have really enjoyed reading these to you and we hope you are managing to find a few minutes to watch these.
