Our first full week in Reception

Another busy week in Reception! All the children spent their first full week in school. Simbas went to Forest School for the first time which was very exciting and it will be Gruffalos turn next week.

Lots of learning has occurred including: Phonics – learning the sounds p, i, n. Kinetic Letters – how to hold a pencil correctly (which is important so the children can write comfortably). Our Busy Bee job – which the children have to complete every day. Critical Reading – learning how to answer questions about a story using full sentences.

And today everyone had their first full P.E. lesson which was enjoyed by all and an R.E. lesson where we thought about our families (belonging). And of course there was time for everyone to also learn and consolidate their learning through play.
