Rowling – Star Writing!

Today, Rowling class were introduced to their new Talk for Writing unit, which is an autobiographical recount.

To start off our topic, we decided to write poems all about ourselves using the sentence starters ‘I have never…but I have…’ 

We started off generating ideas of all of the things we have and haven’t seen, tasted, heard and done. We had some funny answers but also some really thoughtful answers. Here’s our starting point.

We then had to put all of these ideas into a poem. We started with a class poem and then it was time to become independent writers and write our own poems.
I am so impressed with the writing that has been produced today and wanted to share a few examples!

Well done Rowling class, I can’t wait to see what the rest of our unit outcomes are.
