Simba Class had lots of fun at Forest School this morning looking for signs of Autumn. We all enjoyed collecting different colours of leaves, and putting them onto our own leaf collage picture. Everyone was surprised at just how many different leaves we could find! We had yellow, brown, red, orange and green, all beautiful Autumn colours.
We talked about where the leaves had come from, and how and why they had fallen off the trees. We then looked to see if we could match the fallen leaves back to the tree they had came from.
This also prompted a lovely discussion about the different sizes and shapes of the leaves we had found. The children used some brilliant mathematical language to compare, describe and order the leaves we had found.
A brilliant Autumn leaf investigation, well done Simba Class!
