Year 3 Rowling – Stone Age

We have been really enjoying our history topic this term, where we have been learning all about prehistoric Britain. We have spent the last 6 weeks learning all about life from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. It is amazing how much knowledge we have developed in such a short space of time.

In English, we have been learning to write an autobiographical recount. To finish off our unit, we have combined our writing with our History topic and today we began to plan our Hot Writes – an autobiography of a Stone Age man or woman.

We really enjoyed using non fiction books and the devices to find out more information before we created a mind map in our magpie books. Tomorrow, we will be planning our hot write in more detail by using a boxed up plan.

This week, our shared writing has been all about our own lives and we have written an autobiography about ourselves. These have been fantastic so I cannot wait to see the outcome from our Stone Age autobiographies. Watch this space for some writing on Friday.
