Year 6 History

Year 6 have thoroughly enjoyed their History unit on World War 2. The children have learned about the origins of the war, the Blitz, evacuation, rationing, along with the roles that people had to fight the war. In addition, this included learning about the roles that women had to grow food and to work in the factories and how the ARP wardens kept all safe. As always, the children’s engagement and discussion skills were outstanding, allowing for us to delve further into each area. Over the weeks, the children have retained many facts and details and enjoyed gathering those together to write an end of unit recount.

We are now looking forward to next term when we will learn about the Ancient Kingdom of Benin.
