Year 4 Lennon-McCartney – Shakespeare
Over the last 3 weeks, we have been exploring the Shakespeare play of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. We have completed lots of drama based activities to find out about the main characters, how they are feeling at different points in the play and learnt the main plot. We also read some of Shakespeare’s original words in role as the different characters. Over the last few days, we have been delving deeper into the magical and enchanted forest which is where the majority of the play takes place. We have learnt about the different wildlife, flowers and trees that Shakespeare wanted us to visualise in the forest. We then completed our writing pieces based on this, writing in role from Hermia’s perspective – arriving in the forest after making her huge decision to run away from Athens, and then discovering that she was surrounded by enchanted things! Here are some of our finished pieces of writing along with a few pieces of artwork to compliment the writing. We have worked really hard on these pieces of work and everyone should be really proud of their outcomes!
