Year 4 Lennon-McCartney – Watercolour skills!

What an amazing first week back we have had after half term! Year 4 have produced some high quality writing work this week, building on their knowledge of a range of different toolkits (character, setting, dialogue and description). In Maths, we have learnt about a range of different measures including length, weight and capacity. During our wider curriculum lessons, we have started our topic on rivers in Geography and also revised our watercolour skills in Art ready for our new topic on painting this term. Here are some of the examples of our watercolour techniques that we were practicing. We had to make sure we took care of our brush, used small amounts of paint and water and changed the angle of our brush to create different effects. Once we had tried out each different technique, we then put them altogether into a creative piece.

I am looking forward to another great week next week! Have a lovely weekend.
