New and exciting English unit! – ‘The Quest’

This morning, the children came in excitedly from half-term to find a box of treasures sat waiting for them at the front of the class. They opened up the box carefully to find a treasure map, a crown, and a purple and red crayon! How could they all be linked?

The children were encouraged to think about what all of these objects might tell us about the new book we’re studying as a school this week, ‘The Quest’. They came up with lots of ideas, and were excited to see if they were right as we examined all of the pictures in the book together.

We then used our experience of character toolkits from when we studied Mr Big to describe some characters within the story. The children have produced some great work so far, and I can’t wait to see what their final writing piece looks like at the end of the week!
