Another great week in Reception!

What a busy week….

We have been learning the Gruffalo’s Child in Critical Reading and extending this in our small world play.

Our favourite words this week (some of our Word Wizards) which we have used at every opportunity are ‘terrible’ and ‘feast’.

We are whizzing through our phonics, our latest sounds are: j, v, w, x and are very proud of how well we are now blending our known sounds both in reading and writing.

In our Talk for Writing we have been following a non-fiction unit of instruction. We have followed instructions on how to make a gingerbread man using salt dough. We learnt that it is really important to follow the instructions in the right order, otherwise what a muddle!

In maths we are consolidating our knowledge of the composition of 1, 2 and 3 as well as visualising one more and one less. We are becoming super mathematicians.

We have also learned a lot about Remembrance Day and have created some lovely poppies.

Well done Reception, we are very proud of you.
