Ennis Class – The Story of Pirate Tom

This week in year 2, we started a new talk for writing unit which focuses on The Story of Pirate Tom. The children enjoyed exploring different items such as a pirate hook, a pirate hat, a picture of an island, a boat and treasure. This encouraged the children to gather ideas and make predictions about the new unit. Ennis class particularly enjoyed using pirate slang such as ‘Yo, ho, ho my hearties’ as they internalised the model text.
