Robinson Class

Good morning everyone. We have had a wonderful week back together in Robinson class.

In English, we have been begun our new talk for writing unit, journey stories. To help us learn about the plot pattern and tools in a journey story we have been learning the story of pirate Tom. We came into the classroom one morning to find a table of pirate objects. We dressed up in the clothes, studied the ancient pirate book and created descriptive labels to match the objects. We have learnt the opening, build up and problem section of the story so far.

In Maths, we have been learning to divide through sharing. We have used lots of different objects and contexts to help develop our understanding on division.

In Art, we have been looking at the different colours of the rainforest. The children noticed that each leaf had many different shades of green. We created green colour wheels using powder paints to make different shades. The children then painted their own leaves using the different colours.

In Forest school, the children made fairy tents. We had to find 5 sticks of the same length and bind them together with string. The children used wool to weave and decorate their tents.

In Science we are learning about plants. We have identified different garden and wild plants and planted a sunflower seed. We thought about what plants need in order to grow and made sure we placed our pots on a sunny windowsill, water them daily and used enough soil.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
