Learning about time in Mozart class

Today, we have started our new maths topic all about learning how to tell the time. Over the next few weeks, we will be recapping how to read o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to times on analogue clocks, before moving onto telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes.

We started off today by doing a few activities related to the vocabulary of days, months, weeks and years. The children were asked to put themselves in order of the months of the year, and they were also asked to pair statements with the correct number – for example, there are 52 weeks in a year or 366 days in a leap year. The children really enjoyed these practical activities and are clearly looking forward to learning more about telling the time in the next few weeks!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
