Working Hard

Well done Wiggins Class for  coming back to school full of enthusiasm for learning and curiosity.

We have embarked on a new Talk for Writing text this week called Mr Gumpy’s Outing. Our main character starts off as quite a grumpy man but by the ned of the story, although there is a disaster on the boat trip, he finishes as a happy, friendly man! We explored The Rainbow Fish story too which also features a change in the main character. We used lots of adjectives to describe the characters and made sentences about them.

In maths we have been learning about odd and even numbers. It would be great if the children could investigate this over the weekend to embed their learning.

We had a wonderful session in Forest School and went on a bug hunt under, over and around the trees and dens. We found worms, beetles, flies and lots of caterpillar nests!

The children have also been trying very hard to develop their sharing and collaborative skills, working and playing alongside each other on joint tasks, something we will continue to work hard on this term.

Our Friday afternoon minibus trip today was great. We travelled past a factory, a mosque, a church and over a big bridge. We also tried to spot a yellow car but couldn’t find one!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and that the sun continues to shine. See you on Monday!
