Robinson Class

Wow another busy week in Robinson class.

In English, we have been looking into the plot pattern of a cumulative tale. The children linked the plot pattern to other familar stories. We had a wonderful lesson where the children learnt to retell a tale and performed their choice of story to the class. We had a great performance of the lady who swallowed a fly, Handa’s surprise and the very hungry caterpillar.

In maths this week the children have enjoyed becoming teachers. We have been applying our understanding on place value to compare different numbers.

In forest school, the children used natural resources to make artwork within a frame. It was wonderful to see their creations.

In Science, we have been learning about what humans need to be healthy. I was very impressed with the discussions we had. We looked at how important our heart is and how our heart beat changes based on the activities we are doing. We had to sort activities between ones that might increase our heart rate or keep it the same. We then completed the activities to see if we were right.

In Art we looked at drawing objects. We learnt that artists have to be very careful to draw what they can see and not what they think they can see. We had a go at drawing Lego pieces from different angles and used our eyes to carefully see shapes within the Lego.

In RE we have been learning about Gurdwaras. We looked at the inside of a Gurdwara and the important items that you can see inside. We liked the idea of taking your shoes off and had a go in our RE lesson.

Library time is very important to us in Robinson class and the children have enjoyed sharing stories with their peers and discussing different books. It is lovely to watch as children search the shelves for books they know their friends will enjoy too.

I hope you have a great weekend.
