Sports- Open Football

On Wednesday our SDS football team attended Moulton College for an open football competition against 20 other schools.

A huge congratulations as we walked away with the BRONZE medal. The team showed resilience, determination and should be so proud as they didn’t concede one single goal.

Our first match was against Kingsthorpe Village Primary and following a fantastic volley goal from Adam we were triumphant, Next was a difficult match against Boothville but with our strong defenders who are Henry, George Layton and Lawson we held them to a 0-0 draw. Stimpson Avenue were our next competitors and another Goal from Adam lead to a 1-0 win to SDS. The next match featured Blackthorn and we stormed ahead with goals from Adam and Henry celebrating a 2-0 win.

The next phase of the competition meant we were matched against Delapre, a nail-biting challenge to gain the Bronze medal position. SDS showed dominance from the beginning and following some skilful passing from Alex, Oscar, Alex and Fabio, Adam and Ewan score leading to a convincing 2-0 win.

Well done team!
