DT – Shelter Building

This afternoon, we had our first DT lesson of the half-term where we will be exploring shelter building. In our first lesson, we explored a range of images of shelters by identifying what materials were used, how they were used and why they were effective and efficient. Following this, we had the opportunity to explore a variety of materials which might be used to build shelters. We evaluated their effectiveness by discussing and identifying their individual strengths and weaknesses and used this to sketch a preliminary diagram of what out shelter might look like.
