RE and Geography in Mozart class

The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about religious festivals in RE this half-term. This week, they have discussed the similarities and differences between Diwali and Christmas, and found that they have lots of traditions in common!

Then, after our very exciting rainforest day last week, we have been learning about the advantages and disadvantages of deforestation. The children were shocked to hear that people are cutting down trees, but after we received a letter from someone who works in the timber industry, they realised that deforestation and logging can actually have a positive impact sometimes (such as to prevent forest fires from spreading)! It has been lovely to see the children so fascinated and asking so many questions about such an important topic.

I am looking forward to seeing what else the children produce in their final wider curriculum lessons before Christmas next week!

Have a lovely weekend!

Miss Robson
