Masquerade Ball in Reception

We have had such a fantastic start to the term in Reception, and it has been lovely to see the children and share what we have been doing over the Christmas holidays.

We are studying Romeo and Juliet as part of our whole school Shakespeare unit of work, which we have loved!

As part of this, we listened to music from Shakespearian times, which the children said was beautiful. We then learnt a dance to the music. We then worked together with both classes, one class were the Montagues and one class were the Capulets, and we held a masquerade ball together!

The children having also been making their own masks to use in the role play areas of the setting, and fully emersing themselves in the drama.

A super exciting start to the term, well done Reception!
