Rowling Recorders
This morning, we started learning to play the recorder. The children were very excited to learn how to play this instrument. We started off by warming up with some singing and repeating activities. We learnt that a recorder is a woodwind instrument. I was very impressed that the children were able to name different woodwind instruments.
We then started to look at a recorder and all the different parts of a recorder. Following this, we listened to a piece of music that we were going to play the recorder to. We spoke about the rhythm and beat we needed to play to. We also learnt how to play our first note on the recorder. The note ‘B’. The children were then able to play their recorders along to the music using that note. Super!
Well done to all the children for showing great listening skills in the lesson.
We are so excited to carry on our recorder lessons next week!
