Masterful Mandela

Wow! Mandela Class put on an exceptional showcase of their Romeo and Juliet work this morning. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, and have thrown themselves into the drama conventions with enthusiasm. Analysing various scenes within the play has enabled the children to understand the storyline and the key themes for their newspaper reports: Romeo’s banishment and Juliet’s Argument.  The children have effectively applied a range of recount and non-fiction writerly tools to create fabulous newspaper reports which hook the reader, recount events in chronological order and share information from a non-bias perspective.
