DT- Moving Monsters

Rowling class had a fantastic afternoon exploring our new DT topic called Moving Monsters. Within this unit, we are learning all about pneumatics and how air pressure can be used to control movement.

Today, we explored  simple pneumatic systems using some plastic tubing, balloons and syringes. First, we explored how we can connect the syringes and tubing to make it move. Then we worked out how to use each syringe to move up and down. We then explored how we make different everyday objects move without using our hands. After this, we were given a balloon to experiment with. As a final challenge, we had to try and make the object move with the balloon.

We had so much fun exploring and learning all about pneumatics. We are so excited for the rest of the unit! Well done Rowling for your hard work!
