Y6 Churchill: PE – seated volleyball

Over the last few weeks, Churchill class have enjoyed learning to play seated volleyball, which is far from stationary! It’s a fast-paced game and, despite the court being smaller, the net lower, and the players closer together than standing volleyball, requires agility of thought as well as movement.

The children were interested to learn that as it is an adapted version of indoor volleyball, it means disabled players can also participate which makes it one of a small number of sports that is truly inclusive.

The children had great fun playing the game using beach balls, which were perfect as they are lightweight and by their nature travel slowly and are generally easier to control than a harder ball. Here are some pictures:
