Matilda class – Red Nose Day fun
It been a fantastic week in Matilda class. The children have been working so hard across all of their subjects. They have absolutely blown me away with their phonics knowledge, being able to read so many real and pseudo words. The whole year 1 team have been so impressed with the work and effort they have put into learning their sounds and blending them to read. All I have to say is keep it up!
In English we have been writing a report about aliens and I must say the children’s ideas have been out of this world! We are now planning for next week’s hot write report on Minions from the much loved film Despicable Me.
In RE the children have been learning about Judaism and the importance of the Shabbat. They have been creating Challah bread from play dough and Havdalah candles. The children really enjoyed making these and I think they look amazing.
This afternoon the children had the opportunity to design and create their own red noses. I loved the wide variety of designs I saw.
