Ennis Class – Happy Easter!

Wow! Ennis Class what a fantastic term we have had. I am so proud of everything you have achieved and take great pleasure in watching you grow and develop in Year 2.

We have been so busy learning lots in our topic subjects. We have celebrated Science Week, by creating posters based on ‘making connections’, talked about how we are connected as a class and created a finger print poster. We have been learning all about living and non living things in our science unit this term, as well as micro habitat’s and habitat’s. The children created a double page spread this week to summarise all of their learning within the unit and did such a brilliant job, using key vocabulary and defining key terms. In DT we have planned, designed and evaluated a moving mechanism. Each children created a character within a box that moves using a moving mechanism, based on a nursery rhyme of their choice. I was so impressed with your creativity skills and your end outcomes. Finally, in R:E we have been learning all about Easter and why we celebrate Easter. This week we designed a cross which contained all of the symbols that we associate with Easter and now know that it is a time where we celebrate new life and new beginnings.

This afternoon, we spent the final part of the afternoon exploring our new outdoor classroom. We took our class reader with us and listened to our peers read whilst enjoying our surroundings. We have been so excited to visit the outdoor classroom after the opening this week and look forward to some outdoor learning next term.

Ennis Class… you are all super stars! Both myself and Mrs Buckley are so proud of you and are very much looking forward to our summer terms. We hope that you have a fun and restful time during the Easter holidays and spend lots of time with you family and friends. We look forward to hearing all about your holiday news.

Happy Easter Ennis Class!
