Welcome Back and Amazing Art in Ennis Class
Welcome back Ennis class, what a brilliant start to the term we have had!
You have settled back in so well and you continue to work exceptionally hard to achieve your learning goals in Year 2. We have began lots of new units this week, such as The Great Fire of London in history, a Relationships unit in PSHE, Animal Growth / Requirements for Survival and Health in science. We are also completing an invention unit in english, focusing on writing a journey story based on the character Beegu. How exciting!
This term in Art, we are focusing on the unit: Powder Painting inspired by Flora in the locality. We will be considering the enquiry question… How do I mix shades of green and brown and use that knowledge to paint a picture of trees and leaves?
Today in our lesson we explored a leaf identification chart and real leaves collected from trees and bushes. We also focused on naming and identifying local trees by their leaves and created an abstract design with leaf patterns. Super effort! Well done everyone.
Have a brilliant rest of the week.
