Churchill and Dyson: Invention week writing

This afternoon, children in Churchill and Dyson shared their writing from this week’s English ‘invention week.’ The children had worked all week on their own piece of writing inspired by a shared stimulus within their class. Churchill class wrote in response to images from the book ‘The Arrival’ by Sean Tan, exploring ideas stemming from the images below:

Dyson class wrote in response to the images below from a book called ‘The Hatmakers by Tamzin Merchant.

The children read their writing to a partner from the other class and enjoyed both sharing their work and receiving some great feedback about their stories. We were really impressed with how well the children listened to each other and the accuracy of the feedback they gave each other. Well done everyone for the great writing you created this week.
