Matilda Goes Green!

We have had a great week in Matilda class. We have started our new English topic, “The Curious Garden” and to get into the swing of things the children had the chance to create their own class garden, planting petunias marigolds and lobelias. I can’t wait to see them flower!
Following the theme of plants, the children have been exploring the school grounds, searching for all the different kinds of plants we have growing here, identifying and naming them. Some of the seeds we planted last week have started to come up into plants and hopefully after the long weekend we will see a few more.
In RE we have been continuing our unit on Judaism with the children learning about the Torah, a very important scroll containing the first 5 books of the Hebrew bible, how they are made and their importance to Jewish people. The children had a go at creating their own Torah, writing in Hebrew from right to left as it would be read.
Today the class started to make some fantastic crowns for next week’s coronation celebration, I know everyone is going to be very impressed!
I hope you all have a fantastic bank holiday weekend; I will see you on Tuesday.
