Mozart – Learning about Pentecost

To make up for missed time due to the residential and coronation preparations, we have had two RE lessons this week! The children have been learning about the Christian festival Pentecost, discussing how Christians believe that the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus’ disciples, which led to them speaking in different languages. Today, we have looked at a map showing the prevalence of beliefs across the world, and the children were extremely interested by the results in many different countries. We then did an activity where the children had a greeting taped to their backs – they were asked to walk around the room and greet each other using the various words for ‘hello’ and ‘peace’ in different countries alongside an action. After this, we thought about what the disciples might have been thinking when the Holy Spirit arrived.
