Menorahs

In our Religious Education lessons we are learning about the Jewish faith and their traditions.  Today we learnt about the Jewish festival of light called Hanukkah.  We learnt that this festival celebrates when Jewish people won over people who did not agree with their religion and who had different beliefs.  We talked about how lots of people believe in different things, just as we all look different to one other this is ok, life would be boring if we were all the same! We learnt that Jewish people light a Menorah candle today when them celebrate Hanukkah to remember their belief that that the oil of a light burnt for 8 nights after the Jewish success all those years ago.  Here are some of the Menorah candle crafts the children made.
