Geographers in Paddington Class

This week we started our new topic in geography about India.  We recalled our knowledge about England and compared this with facts we learnt about India. We found both England and India on a world map and the children were surprised at how small England is compared to India, they also noticed that India is the shape of a triangle and:

  • In India the money is called rupees
  • The capital city of India is New Dehli
  • The most common language spoken in Indian is Hindi

During our PE lesson this week, Mrs Whitehouse also taught us an Indian dance, it was great fun and we learnt that our hand movements represent a native Indian bird. What a great start to your final term in year 1, well done Paddington Class!
