Year 2- Fantastic first week back!
This week, Year 2 have returned to school ready for their final summer term, with brilliant attitudes and huge smiles on their faces.
Well… what a fantastic week we have had starting lots of new units. In English we are learning to write a range of explanation texts and have began to learn our new model text based on the question ‘Why dragons are extinct’. In reading we have been reading the story, ‘I’ll take you to Mrs Cole’ and thinking carefully about how the author portrays a character as well as practising our inference skills. In topic subjects such as DT we have designed our puppets and started to complete the template on coloured felt. This is part of a sewing unit, where we are going to develop our sewing skills by creating a hand puppet based on a animal of our choice.
Then to end the week, lots of children participated in our school ‘Rachel Kiff Fun Run’ in the beautiful sunshine! Many children achieved lots of laps around school and were awarded with a certificate afterwards, for their brilliant achievement.
Have a lovely weekend Year 2 and enjoy the sunshine.
