Year 3- Art Workshop
Today, Year 3 had a very exciting workshop with local artist, Martine Soldano, who is an amazing textile and collage artist. The focus of the workshop was based around the work of David Hockney who was famous for his work on landscapes. The children enjoyed learning about David Hockney previously and could recall a lot of amazing facts about the artist.
First, the children created pages of different colours using a variety of different paints and resources which were later used to create their background of their pieces. Then, we learnt the technique of snipping and cutting which we later used to give the landscapes extra detail.
This afternoon, the children worked really hard to complete their final pieces. All the adults were very impressed with the hard work and attention to detail from the children. There was a creative buzz in both classrooms.
We were also lucky that during different stages of the day everyone collaborated and worked together to create a magnificent year group landscape.
The final pieces from today will be available to view and purchase on the 14th July at the Art Exhibition. All the information you need for this event has been sent to you on a Parentmail or you can ask the class teacher for further information.
Well done Year 3 and a big thank you to Martine for the brilliant workshop!
