Ennis Class – Incredible week!
Wow! What an incredible week we have had in Year 2. On Monday we took part in KS1 Sports Day and completed a range of physical activities within our house groups and had such a fantastic morning celebrating our success with our parents and carers. In maths, we have continued to develop our knowledge of capacity and volume and enjoyed experimenting with water and measurements sets in the sunshine. In DT, we have continued our puppet unit focused on developing our sewing skills. Many children have now finished their designs and have produced perfect puppets!
Finally, on Thursday we visited Northampton Museum and met Seb an architect who helped design the new part of the museum building. We learned all about what an architect is, mixing old and new buildings together and the planning and processes that take place. Seb then took us to see the old windows, which was the focus of our visit. We were very lucky to get the opportunity to go downstairs and look at the windows whilst also seeing the fantastic shoes on display. After a busy morning exploring the features of the museum, we stopped for a snack and got our sketch books out. We then spent the rest of our time sketching the windows and focusing very carefully on the detail.
Over the next 3 weeks, we are going to develop our sketches in time for the whole school art exhibition. We cannot wait to share our art work with you.
Well done Ennis Class, what a wonderful week.
Have a lovely weekend
