Welcome to Murray Class!
Wow! What a fantastic first day we have had! Murray class was full of smiles this morning as we returned to school and we have had a fun filled day with lots of learning.
We started our day with reading and enjoyed sharing books together. A huge well done to those who completed the Summer Reading Challenge with the library over the holiday, we’ve had lots of certificates handed in! If you haven’t completed the reading challenge, there is still time to do this!
After reading we did English, where we began by writing simple sentences using adjectives. I was blown away by the vocabulary the children used and they wrote some wonderful sentences.
After break we started phonics and recapped the oy and oi sounds, learning how to identify which sound to use when spelling. We then did maths and looked at odd and even numbers. We noticed that an odd number cannot be shared equally but an even number can.
This afternoon, we had a fabulous PE lesson followed by some tonal shading in Art. It was a full on day but we have loved every second!
Well done Murray class, what a great day we have had!
See you tomorrow,
Miss Gedney
