Welcome to Mozart Class!

Wow! What a fantastic first week in year 4. The children quickly settled back into their routines and began learning straight away.  Throughout the week, we have reminded the children of our routines for Kinetic Letters, lining up, moving around the classroom etc and the children responded brilliantly.

In English, we started our new Talk for Writing Unit about Mr Big and the children created brilliant poems using some high-level vocabulary describing a piano. Today, the children worked hard to describe a character and produced some amazing ideas whilst working hard on their new writing targets.

We have also recapped our knowledge of place value in maths. The children have enjoyed exploring this practically using a range of maths resources and have impressed me with their knowledge.

At the start of the week, we introduced ‘ fact of the week.’  Each week the children will be given a new times tables fact to focus on and practise throughout the week. I have been blown away by how quickly the children remembered the fact this week which was 8 x 8 = 64. They are all super excited to find out what the fact will be next week.
