Year 5 – Einstein Bakery Visit

On Tuesday Einstein Class visited the bakery at our local Tesco store, this was a great start our DT unit on bread. We were given a full tour of the bakery, we watched the baker put all the ingredients together to make the bread and once it had been turned into dough we were able to feel the texture and consistency for ourselves. We were shown the bread ovens and how the bread is then packaged to be sold. We even had the opportunity to taste the most popular loaf – tiger bread and we took home a doughnut! We will be using our knowledge back in the classroom when we make our own bread, we hope you can remember the four key ingredients!
